Grow compassionately.
Facilis Cares captures the collective spirit and dedication of our community to help fulfill the needs of underserved and underprivileged individuals through service and donation. Built around the power of togetherness, we are committed to upholding our community’s greater purpose: to inspire each other to be outwardly focused - helping uplift those in need while leaving a positive impact that is felt for years to come.
On that note, it’s our duty and passion to leave Nashville better than when we came. Not surprisingly, the hearts in Nashville are huge, making it impossible to choose only one initiative to support. We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with two incredible organizations dedicated to the support and care of children in Nashville.
Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program™
A unique educational program offered by Gabe’s My Heart, a nonprofit organization that supports children and families living with cancer. Created by a mother for her son, Gabe, when he was diagnosed with cancer at a young age, Chemo Duck is a soft, cuddly companion that provides huggable hope and alleviates fear and anxiety.
Developed with the help of child life specialists and medical professionals, the Chemo Duck Program helps introduce children and families to their new life while encouraging healing through the power of play therapy. Chemo Duck enables hospital staff and parents to prepare children for chemotherapy treatment and eliminate the fear of the unknown. In a gentle, age-appropriate manner, children are exposed to life during cancer treatment and now have a friend to share the experience with. In turn, children can use Chemo Duck to help friends, siblings and classmates understand and empathize with their experience.
For $42, you can provide huggable hope to a child, in the form of this very special Chemo Duck.
United Way of Greater Nashville’s Stuff the Bus Program
United Way of Metropolitan Nashville’s Stuff the Bus program brings together volunteers to provide essential school supplies for students in need. Last year, with the support of the companies who hosted supply drives, 12,000 students at 18 Nashville-area schools received a backpack full of supplies on their first day of school.
Basic school supplies can cost parents an average of $200 per child. For families struggling to make ends meet, this could mean choosing between buying school supplies or putting food on the table. Through Stuff the Bus, United Way is partnering to make sure students have the supplies and resources they need to start the school year off ready to learn.
“Stuff the Bus isn’t just about filling backpacks,” said Brian Hassett, president, and CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. “It’s about giving kids the tools they need to learn, create, explore and succeed.”
For $13, you can provide all the school supplies a child will need for the next school year.
By aligning with both programs, we are confident that our community can truly leave Nashville better than when we came, and we’re willing to back it up: Facilis Cares will match our partners’ support of these tremendous causes, dollar-for-dollar, up to $6,000. Whether you give hope in the form of a Chemo Duck or assist in providing the tools a child needs for success, we’ll be with you every step of the way. That’s what makes our Facilisgroup Community so uniquely special.
